Metal Screeching Coming from Wheel Well While Car is Reversing?
Hello, I have a 2007 Mazda 3 (standard). In just the past few days there has been a metal screetching or grinding/clicking noise coming from the wheel well. I was wondering if anyone has had this problem before or if anyone might have any ideas. Here are a couple of additional variables:
-Just recently froze over where I live at and have spun my tires a moderate amount trying to get unstuck from some places
-Only happens while car is going backward (whether in reverse or rolling while the clutch is engaged)
-the disc seems pretty hot when I touch it after a 10 mile trip (not sure if this is normal or not).
-it makes the noise regardless of whether I am applying the brakes or not.
That's a brake pad wear indicator rubbing on the brake rotor to let you know you brakes are worn out.
Have you brakes serviced.
