how much hp would be gained?
Ok I have an 06 Chevy Malibu LS and I hate how much power it doesn't have and no one sells parts like a header for it, but competition products sells a Cylinder head for it. About how much HP would be added?
Starting with an OE GM casting, the head is fully ported on a state-of-the-art 5 axis CNC machine center. All intake and exhaust ports as well as the chambers receive this pro quality treatment. Stage II heads are assembled featuring Patriot Gold springs, titanium retainers, bronze guides, oversize valves (1.420"/1.225") and a 5 angle valve job. Also available with performance reground cams. Intake cams have a .243 lift with a duration of 192 degrees @ .050". Exhaust cams have a .235" lift with a duration of 179 degrees @ .050".
Stock the motor has about 144hp @5600 rpm and 155ft/lbs @4000 rpm
and if you know of anywhere that does sell performance parts for this car feel free to share.
can't give you a h/p number ,and these heads/cams will help ,but you will still have the bottle neck in the exhaust system. to fully realize the potential you will need headers/tubular exhaust. might check with edelbrock.+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ JUST giving a general answer to this question. sorry i didn't kn ow that everything changed on the "special" ecotec package on the '06 malibu. would have gotten back sooner tony , but i had to go to WORK . keep rolling your eyes like a school girl. maybe they will stay that way. anyone that spends this kind of money on a cylinder head should KNOW that some tuning/fabricating will be involved. by the way, found a header. you do the research.
