The gas filler tube on our 97 plymouth grand voyager has rusted out near the bottom by the tank. I have patched it once with epoxy and that lasted about 4 months. Evidently, the gas has eaten through the epoxy patch i put on. I cant afford to replace the filler tube (around $300), so I'm going to repair it again... This time better. What material could I wrap around the bottom elbow of the pipe that won't get eaten through with gasoline anytime soon? I'm still going to use epoxy (a diff kind) but what material wont GASOLINE EAT THROUGH? Thanks
Why not spend all that time looking for a good used filler tube and be done with it.If really want to fix,then buy a hose made for gasoline use,sold at auto parts store,then cut the pipe and put the hose instead.Epoxy only to make it hard,not good at sealing.
