what are some other good power adders for a (1988 Camaro Base 2.8 Liter 173ci Multi Port Injected V6)?
okay here's what iv'e done so far cat removed, flowmaster muffler, 2-K&N High Flow Air Filters oh yeah and the turbonator hahahahahaha actually the turbonator probably doesn't really make any hp or torque but it does make a cool whistling spooling kinda sound anyways now people im not trying to race the car or anything if i wanted to got fast i would drive my 88'IROC L98, 2002 SS, 2002 Z28, 67' SS 396ci. but i dont because of gas prices i just wanna make this car manueverable on the road because as you all know the 2.8 V6 in the 1980's Camaro's was just awful (power wise) but then again it gets about 22 mpg in the city which is decent for a heavy metal body car thats powered by a 173ci V6 so what other mods other than a turbo/supercharger or engine swap would give me a little power increase? thanks for any helpful information

I was also asking about performance parts for the 2.8L V6 Chevy fuel injected engine here on 'answers.'
I believe that Hypertech makes a performance computer chip for the 2.8 GM engine-

And there are a number of other performance mods you can do, too. Let me think for a moment here...
1. Install a 160* thermostat (it will keep the engine running cooler, and will give you a little bit more power)
2. Install a 160* fan switch
3. Use Royal Purple synthetic engine oil
4. You might be able to gain 5 hp or so if you install dual exhaust pipes, and dual flowmaster mufflers (I would consult an exhaust shop and a mechanic first and find out for sure if you would really benefit from duals)
And there are several other ideas-
You could install a more aggressive camshaft in the engine. You could also have the heads ported. You could probably also get an MSD ignition for the Camaro, too, and use high quality race plug wires, like Taylor, MSD, Accel, etc. And, you could use Accel or other high performance ignition components.
