2010 Jeep Wrangler 4x4 CB Radio Mount?
I am planning on installing a, Uniden PC68LTW 40 Channel CB Radio with Front Mic, to my 2010 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. I have not yet ordered the CB. I cannot find the dimensions for the size of this radio. If anyone can help with that, I would appreciate it. Two, can anyone send me a link for a mounting bracket either universal or one that will fit this radio. I would like to mount the CB radio on top of the dash. Anyone have any suggestions, answers, on wire routing for the CB radio. Best places to mount. Links to sources and where I can buy this stuff ?
Per the owners manual the radio is 7-9/32” x 8-5/8” x 2-13/64”,
You could mount the CB on the top center of the dash, but I would be surprised if there is a kit just for that. Another common place to mount the CB is on the passenger side of the transmission "hump".
There are a couple of ways to wire a CB. You can go to the fuse box and either plug it into an open port which can be either switch power (only on when ignition key is on) or constant power (on all the time). The best way to wire would be directly to the battery. However this would make the radio on all the time. I wired in a relay so the CB would be the benefits of being wired directly to the battery but would still be only one with the key.
A lot of times when the radio wired to the fuse box you will get a wining noise that is consistent with the RPM of the vehicle. Wiring directly to the battery will typically eliminate this and provide better power to the CB.

It may be a good idea to check some JK forums to see what they have done...
