The buttons of the remote became so hard to press that I need a pencil to press it. I need to get a new remote but do not know where to get it. My remote starter brand is called "bulldog security". I lost my manual which had the customer service number. Will any other brand remote can be programmed to be used for my car, OR is there any universal remote available to buy which can be programmed to be used for my car? I would call the company and see if they have the remote available for your model. The remote has a rolling code that changes with each use. This makes it very unlikely that another persons key-less remote will work with your car. If you press the button too many times without being within range with the vehicle or get a new key-less remote, you will simply need to synchronize the remote with the receiver. This is typically done with a button or switch press while pressing a button on the remote. The button or switch is usually located under the driver side dash.
The same applies for garage door openers.
