Will i damage it at all if i put the a garret turbo on a 16.5hp kohler engine?
the engine is a stock kohler 16.5hp engine. i want to put out atleast 25 hp out of this thing. so my plan is to get the engine, turbocharge it, add a cold air intake system on it and tune the engine by putting high performance parts like racing valves from a similar bike engine.
will my plan succeed or willmy engine go kaput?
i am planning to put this onto my custom made off road buggy.
you can turbo it, but it will have to be a very small turbo or it will not spool at all. just dont go mad on the boost and possibly retard the timing a little bit etc and also think about cooling. I'm assuming its a 1 cylinder air cooled engine of around 200-300 ccs? if so, you'll need a tiny turbo or else it wont do anything. and it doesnt have to be a garrett turbo, maybe find a motorcycle turbo, or one from a honda city, they are petty small.
