92 vw corrado needs keys for door locks?
I have a 92 vw corrado slc vr6 and I never got the door keys to go along with the one in the ignition...
can I call volkswagen and get the numbers for the locks on hte side of the door since I have the title,... or do I need to take the door apart to get to the 4 digit code on the side of the cylinder?
If you choose to take the vehicle to the dealer, the service department will need the vin number and proof you're the owner of the vehicle and run the vin on the Volkswagen Information system computer. Now, because your vehicle was built before 1995, they may or may not be able to give you a key code. Prior to 1995 or so, key codes were not always entered into the Volkswagen information system.
My suggestion is that you remove the door handle (which contains the lock cylinder) which is easily done; remove the screw that holds the handle in place on the door jamb surface area of the door (its a phillips screw) then push the handle back to remove it. A locksmith can impression a key; charges will vary depending upon hourly rate; where I'm at they charge $15.00 for the first key, then $5.00 to cut the second copy from the impressioned one.
