Performance driving or driving fast?
By performance driving.. it's like in NASCAR driving and such where they slow down at the right times and use the throttle at the right nows and put weight distribution into factor and such.
By driving fast I mean just driving fast but don't get out of the track.
In a real race in a race track with some turns and straightaways.. which would get a better time in a 10 lap race.
I'm just wondering :p
Your question is a little confusing, and it seems like you are asking about the difference between a fast driver (as you term it, "performance driving") and a slow driver (ie, "driving fast).
The simple illustration of your question would be what you see at pretty much every HPDE, where you have a novice or intermediate driver in something like a track prepped Z06... which is then quickly passed and left in the distance by one of the instructors driving a nearly stock Miata.
In that case, the first car is massively faster than the second, but the second driver is much quicker than the first. No matter how fast the car is, it will always be limited by the skill of the driver. Going fast is about the right line, maintaining balance, maximizing exit speed, etc... anything a driver does that compromises any of those, including just "standing on the gas" will result in slower lap times.
