Nitrous specific camshaft for a small block chevy?
I've got a near daily driver 87 Camaro with a built 327 small block really ~333 started with a 4bolt main 350 and bore it .030 over and used a 327 crankshaft. to the point. It's got a fairly mild cam in it now, the motor makes 290hp. I've since done a 175 shot of nitrous kit from Zex with 2x 10lb bottles.
I bought a similar lift spec cam from Comp cams but it's specific to nitrous applications. What should i expect from this cam when not running nitrous?? is it going to run like crap? i bought the cam on ebay on the cheap.
haven't put the motor on an engine dyno since it was put in the camaro so i'm not sure what the motor is making on the juice. I would imagine it to be somewhere around 460hp.
I've run a comp nitrous cam before.. biggest advantage is they allow the nitrous to be used lower in the powerband and prevent power from falling off in the higher rpms.. most people that run nitrous on the street try to keep their car a secret.. it's a little bikt harder to do with a nitrous cam.. it's going to make the engine sound a bit meaner
superchevy did an article a while back
